The prevention of injury and ill health to our work force is of paramount importance to R Benson and to date we have been successful in not having any reportable incidents.

A major part of our business is in the Social Homes sector where we undertake extensive refurbishment works whilst the premises are occupied. With such sensitive work safety is paramount and we have in place robust procedures to ensure the safety of both Residents and our workforce. We continually review our procedures from the top of our business, incorporating lessons learned and to ensure all latest legislation is captured.

All our Managers are CITB and NVQ trained in Safety Management and are fully conversant with the Companies Health and Safety procedures. We have a planned training matrix that ensures we monitor the competences of our Staff.

Our experienced and competent workforce all hold the relevant CSCS cards and attend regular safety awareness and job specific training courses and fully understand the Benson approach to Health and Safety.

We hold a full suite of Health and Safety template documents and along with Construction Phase Health and Safety, Site Waste Management and Emergency Plans are all available prior to any works commencing. We are an inclusive business and seek feedback from our workforce to ensure our Health and safety is continually improved.

We are CHAS accredited and are in the process of applying for OHAS18001.
