R. Benson was proud to work alongside Accent Housing to refurbish the guest apartment at Cranmore Court in Surrey.
We are currently delivering Void refurbishment and kitchen replacements programmes for Accent Homes residents and value the opportunity to give back to the communities we work in, meaning there was no cost to Accent.
Working closely with the Scheme Manager, we sustainably redesigned the guest apartment to create an additional bedroom and a real community asset. Every decision was guided by the residents and the Scheme Manager needs, ensuring the end result felt personal, practical, and homely. The remodelled guest apartment is now warm, modern, and easy to use. It gives customers’ family and friends a comfortable place to stay nearby.
The Main improvements include:
- Changing the old wet room into a second bedroom
- Adding a modern, accessible wet room and a new kitchenette
- Fresh carpets, updated lighting, and furniture from IKEA for Business
- A full electrical rewire for safety
- Energy-saving features to cut costs and help the environment
Paul Hills, Specialist Housing Partner for Accent’s Cranmore Court, said:
“Customers have said how great the guest room is for family and friends to have a nice place to stay when they visit. Several customers are already trying to book it. Huge thank you to R. Bensons!”
Before the work, the apartment was old, worn out, and not welcoming for visitors. Now, it gives customers a much better way to host their loved ones.
The project demonstrates our commitment to leaving meaningful legacies in the communities we work in. We create safe, sustainable, and people-focused spaces that bring long-term benefits to the community.
Marcus Neal, Director at R. Benson Property Maintenance Ltd, said:
“At R. Benson, we’re committed to making a real difference to the communities we work with. This project at Cranmore Court is a great example of how social value commitments can create meaningful change, and we’re proud to have delivered a space that residents can be proud of.”
This project proves that real community change happens when strong partnerships work together.
