Following the appointment onto the Accent Group DPS Voids R Benson provided support in managing a short back log of voids at short notice. After the successful clearance of the voids backlog, we were appointed as an Accent Void work contractor and also awarded a subsequent Kitchen replacement contract. The successful delivery has continued, and this has been reflected in 2 additional year extensions on the contract.
Our remit covers all aspects of void works to empty properties, including electrical and multi-trade functions, as well as kitchen and bathroom renewals where required. Over the course of the contract, we have managed a significant volume of works averaging six properties opened and completed each week.
Client collaboration is central to our success. We conduct joint visits with Accent’s property surveyors for complex voids and hold weekly meetings with the client and lettings team to track progress, identify priorities and ensure all works remain on target.
We work with Accent housing officers to facilitate viewings even while repairs are ongoing, subject to health and safety measures. This proactive approach allows prospective tenants to engage with the property early, potentially expediting the occupancy process. This not only enhances tenant satisfaction but also reduces the time the property remains unoccupied, thereby minimising rent loss.
