What an incredible week of celebration supporting international women’s day and highlighting the achievements of women in construction!
What an incredible week of celebration it’s been as we highlight the achievements of women in construction! Our business is especially proud to see growth in the number of women in site-based roles, along with the strong leadership of our female Director and senior management team. With high retention rates of female staff, we are committed to continuously enhancing an inclusive and empowering environment.
We kicked off the week by sponsoring WISH’s International Women’s Day Event alongside Zaha Architects and Winckworth Sherwood . The event included a moving talk from Aysha Iqbal, and awards. Marcus Neal , Charlotte Lawrence and Chyrryl Culley were proud to represent the businesses commitment to EDI. The evening was not about our efforts but we look forward to sharing our expertise & learning from the other members throughout 2025 with Women in Social Housing (WISH) London
We also partnered with Notting Hill Genesis where we proudly sponsored the catering and provided branded cupcakes for their International Women’s Day celebrations including great learning opportunities and a fun interactive quiz. The catering companies were chosen because they are 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲-𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 with a strong focus on sustainability and local sourcing.
It was an honour to hear from Natalie Quilter and Melissa Berry, both of whom shared impactful lessons and personal experiences. They are true champions of equality, diversity and inclusion in the industry.
Internally, we celebrated our staff this week by providing flowers for staff to take home to the inspirational women in their lives, education and celebrations in each operational hub- continuing to provide an environment where women continue to thrive.
Looking ahead
As we look ahead, it’s crucial to remember that supporting International Women’s Day is not just about celebration – it’s about raising awareness and reaffirming our commitment to making workplaces truly inclusive. Let’s not forget that every day is an opportunity to take meaningful actions towards equity, celebrate the women in our teams, and continue evolving to create a workforce where everyone can excel.
