In our final sporting challenge of 2019, a team of three will take part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday, 13th October.

The route will start and end in Hyde Park and travels through central London and four of the Royal Parks, it is one of London’s largest half-marathons with over 16,000 participants.

Lee O’Loughlin, Barry Smith and Paul Burgess have been in training since signing up to complete this challenge back in January. The team is raising money for SeeAbility and has recently spent a day volunteering at their Millennium Centre to find out first-hand exactly how the charity supports people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss. To support this amazing charity sponsor the team on our company JustGiving page.

When they signed up for the event in March, Lee and Barry had never even run for a bus, so this has been a huge personal challenge for them. As part of their training, they have successfully completed 10km and 10mile runs! Paul is a seasoned runner and cyclist who is not only competing in this half marathon challenge but also kept his colleague company on a 110km cycle last month!

This fundraising event is part of our 2019 fundraising programme which has already raised almost £16,000 for our three chosen charities, BRIGHT Cancer Care, Kids Cancer Charity, and SeeAbility.

Good luck to everyone taking part in this event and thank you to everyone who has supported the team!
