2024 Charity Golf Day raises over £16,000

By 12th July 2024News

We would like to thank everyone who supported our annual Charity Golf day on 1st July 2024, together we raised £16,270 for Rennie Grove Peace and Children with Cancer UK.

The charity golf day started with a breakfast roll and coffee before our 80 keen golfers headed on to the course at Sudbury Golf Course, a calming sunshine filled start with plenty of enthusiasm for the day ahead.

The day started with its usual competitive spirits and plenty of fundraising with our ‘lucky envelopes’ containing mystery tokens that could be used around the course, along with participants receiving their personalised goodie bags and informative material about the charities we were supporting.

After the golf we enjoyed a lovely meal and heard how the money raised would be put to great use from Rennie Grove Peace and Children with Cancer UK.  We would like to thank Lisa, Angela, Amar, Erinne and Ellen who joined us for the day and spoke to our guests about just how important fundraising events like these are to them.

The winners of our competitions were:

 Winning Team: Vinci Response Services

Overall Winner:  Nick Thorn, Vinci Response Services

28 Handicap Winner: Dan Stocker, D&R Drainage

Nearest the Pin: Tom Pepper, Arthur J Gallagher Insurance Brokers Ltd

Longest Drive: Rob Goodwin, Jewson

Beat the Pro: With every participant opting in to give it a go, the Pro was busy all day on hole 7, but only three golfers managed to beat him, 2 less than last year. Well done Milan Fiala, Luke Charalambus & Paul Barnett.

Marcus Neal, Director said: We are thrilled to have raised over £16,000 at our charity golf day for both Rennie Grove Peace & Children with Cancer UK.
It is incredibly important to us as individuals and the business that our Social Value and Charity Programme thrive and grow alongside our business in the communities we work with. We look forward to our next annual Golf Day on 7th July 2025.
